Weather-resistant ASA for functional outdoor prints

Polymaker ASA combines ABS-like strength and durability with improved UV and weather resistance. It is suited to outdoor housings, enclosures, brackets, fixtures and prototypes exposed to sunlight and changing weather.

Formerly PolyLite ASA: Polymaker has renamed this range Polymaker ASA. Packaging may still carry the PolyLite name during the transition.

This listing supplies 1 kg spools of 1.75 mm filament only. Choose your colour above. Galaxy colours are the Galaxy-effect ASA variants.

Printer requirements

An enclosed printer is required to retain warmth and reduce warping. An all-metal hotend capable of reaching 250 °C or above is recommended. Use appropriate ventilation and avoid breathing printing emissions.

Specifications

  • Material: ASA (acrylonitrile styrene acrylate)
  • Filament diameter: 1.75 mm
  • Net filament weight: 1 kg per spool
  • Colour: selected variant

Recommended print settings

The following starting settings follow Polymaker's PolyLite ASA Technical Data Sheet V5.4. Calibrate for your printer, nozzle and part geometry.

  • Nozzle temperature: 230–260 °C
  • Bed temperature: 75–95 °C
  • Print speed: 50–200 mm/s; achievable speed depends on hotend flow, printer capability and print geometry. Slower speeds may be needed on older printers.
  • Cooling fan: off
  • Retraction distance: 1–3 mm
  • Retraction speed: 20–40 mm/s
  • Drying: 70 °C for 7 hours when moisture has been absorbed
  • Build surface: PC or textured PEI, with suitable glue when needed

Printing and storage advice

Keep the enclosure closed during printing and avoid cold draughts. Use a suitable build-plate adhesive when needed. Store filament sealed and dry between prints. The recommended settings are starting points, not a guarantee of performance on every machine.
