Overview

Built around a rigid die-cast aluminium frame and chassis, with a CoreXY motion system, intelligent automation and an enclosed printing environment, the Centauri Carbon 2 Combo is designed for makers, professionals, educators, and production environments that need reliable, high-quality FDM printing with multicolour capability.

The enclosed chamber includes a thermal cover and an automatically controlled smart grille to help manage internal temperatures. The enclosure can improve layer adhesion and reduce warping with suitable materials and profiles; it should not be confused with a dedicated actively heated chamber.

CANVAS and Material Compatibility

  • TPU requires a separate feeding setup: install the Flexible Filament Adapter and disconnect the CANVAS cable before printing. The printable adapter model and installation guide are included on the USB flash drive. TPU is not supported through the normal CANVAS multicolour workflow.
  • Choose compatible material combinations: four-colour capability does not mean every supported polymer can be freely mixed in one print. Use suitable material profiles and compatible printing conditions.
  • Fibre-reinforced filaments: ELEGOO permits these through CANVAS, but recommends regular inspection and replacement of feed parts during extended use because abrasive filaments accelerate wear.
  • RFID recognition: automatic material and colour identification applies to compatible ELEGOO RFID-tagged filament, not every spool.
  • Spool fit: CANVAS spool holders accept spools with an inner diameter of 53–58 mm. Larger inner diameters require a printed adapter.
  • Automatic refill: configure matching spools to continue printing when one runs out. Tangle detection pauses printing when a tangle is detected.
